From Brenda M: I have known Paul since 1975 when I shared Janet’s flat in Edmonton. They were "an item" then so it has been lovely to know them throughout the years they were together. I remember admiring the way that they had both got their own flats in their mid twenties and this prompted me to buy my own flat. I also admired the way Paul and Janet lived their lives, giving unselfishly to a range of community projects. His passing will leave a big gap in many people’s lives. Most impressed with Paul’s great fund of knowledge about a variety of interests. Beyond that, what was more impressive was his love of his family and how he and Janet were totally focused on giving you the best start in life. They were fantastic parents and exemplary grandparents. I had been in touch with Paul a few times since dear Janet passed away and it was good to hear updates about the family. I had no idea when I received his Christmas letter that things must have been critical. He seemed full of optimism, especially about his travels. It is difficult to express the sadness one feels about friends passing that will end a part of life that has been taken for granted for so long. I know that you must be so proud of your parents. Their love and unstinting support will always be with you. I feel that it has been a privilege to call Paul and Janet my friends. Thinking of you all
